The house is located in the Caribbean coast of Colombia very near the city of Cartagena in a site surrounded by artificial canals and the Atlantic Sea. The main idea is to give the clients an informal house that reworks the traditional concept of the patio as the center of the activities taking place in the building and as a climatic strategy to handle the harsh conditions of sun and humidity. The courtyard allows different sequences of perspectives and relationships between what is open and what is closed while the pitched roofs give the spaces a special quality that goes along with an architecture of thick walls that resolve all the furniture.
